Deoriatal Bya Rohani Bugyal to Chopta Trek

The Rohini Bugyal trek to Deoriatal and then to Chopta is a popular trekking route in the Uttarakhand Himalayas, offering stunning views and a moderate level of difficulty. The trek typically starts from Sari village, the base for Deoriatal, and passes through Rohini Bugyal before reaching Chopta. While hiking to Rohini Bugyal, you must cross Jhandi Dhar. A ridgetop called Jhandi Dhar (2,650 meters) provides unobstructed views of Chaukhambha Peaks and Kedar Dome. After a few kilometers of hiking, Chandrashila Peaks also come into view.

1. Sari Village: Sari Village is a small village located at the base of the Deoriatal trek. It is a popular starting point for the trek and offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. The trek from Sari Village to Deoriatal is a relatively easy one and takes around 2-3 hours.
2. Deoriatal: Deoriatal is a high-altitude lake located at an altitude of 2438 meters above sea level. The lake is surrounded by dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and deodar trees and offers stunning views of the Chaukhamba peaks. The trek to Deoriatal is a relatively easy one and is suitable for beginners.
3. Chopta: Chopta is a small village located at an altitude of 2680 meters above sea level and serves as the base camp for several treks in the region. It is surrounded by forests of rhododendron, deodar, and pine trees and offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. The trek to Chopta is a relatively easy one and is suitable for beginners.
4. Chandrashila Peak: Chandrashila Peak is a summit located at an altitude of 3965 meters above sea level and offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. The trek to Chandrashila Peak is a challenging one and involves steep ascents and descents. However, the stunning views from the summit make it all worth it.

Day 1 Sari village to Deoriatal (4.5 km)

Post breakfast, start the 4.5 km trek from Sari village to Deoria Tal. You also have an option of a small sightseeing tour near the campsite. After a short while on the trail, you start getting view of the crstal clear Deoria Tal lake which shows reflections of surrounding Himalayas .

Day 2Deoria Tal to Chopta (14 km, 7-8 hours)

After an early breakfast, start the trek to Chopta. As one walks along the ascending trails, one appreciates the soothing scent of oak & pine trees from the mixed forests. The snow capped scenery will revitalize you & make the long trek look like a nature walk. You will be lucky if you spot the beautiful bird of this place named as “Monal”. A number of trekkers also spot deer’s in the vicinity. Once you reach Chopta you can take rest for some time and get re-energised after a refreshing cup of tea and snacks. If lucky, you might even spot beautiful & rare Himalayan bird called “monal” & some deer near Chopta. Reach the campsite at Chopta to enjoy evening meals around bonfire.

Day 3Chopta - Tungnath - Chandrashila - back (7-8 hours / 10 km trek)

Take an early breakfast to start the trek towards Tungnath temple where you will experience mental calm, peace & spirituality. Besides dense forest scenery around the temple, one can also see mountain eagles here. Hike about 1.5 km further on a challenging gradient to reach the Chandrashila summit (4,130 m) which offers breathtaking Himalayan views. Enjoy & photograph at the summit for 30-45 mins & then start to trail down and reach Chopta by 2 pm.

• anything not expressly stated under the heading

PAYMENT POLICY:

A) 46 days or more before date of departure: 25% of total cost.
B) 31- 45 days before date of departure: 50% of total cost.
C) 30 days before date of departure: 100% of total cost.
IMPORTANT: The booking stands liable to be cancelled if 100% payment is not received less than 30 days before date of departure.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

For the cancellation of trek services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reasons, we must be notified of the same in writing:

*CANCELLATION CHARGES PER PERSON

a) 30 days or more before the departure date: 25% of the total cost.
b) 29 - 20 days before the departure date: 50% of total cost.
c) Less than 20 days before the departure day: 100% of the total cost.

*IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAY

We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements.
Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right under any circumstances to cancel you travel arrangements by assigning reasons to you.
If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements due to reasons beyond control ( e.g. bad weather, insufficient bookings) we shall first try to offer alternative dates for the tour if the tour has'nt already commenced. If the alternate arrangement does not suit you, we will refund the amount in full.

*IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR HOLIDAY PLAN

After confirmation of services, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way (e.g. your chosen departure date or accommodation), we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible.
Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All cost incurred due to amendment will be borne by you.
All booking vouchers and tickets will be provided 3 days before departure.

NOTE:

1)- Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.
2)- In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/ she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by Himal Trek & Tour .
3)- Himal Trek & Tour holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice.

If a trip must be delayed or the itinerary changed due to bad weather, road conditions, transportation delays, government intervention, airline schedules, sickness, or other contingency for which Himal Trek & Tour or its agents cannot make provision, the cost of delays and/or other changes are the responsibility of the participant. Himal Trek & Tour reserves the right to decline, or accept, any individual as a trip member for any reason whatsoever.

*Written cancellation will be accepted on working days (only). Any cancellation sent on a Sunday or any National Holiday(s), will be considered on the next official working day.
*In the event of any cancellation(s) after trip commencement, there will be no refunds and any costs incurred due to this cancellation will be borne by you.
Irrespective of when a trip is booked, the above condition will hold true.

HOW TO REACH

DO’S AND DON’TS ON A TREK

1.Alcohols or any other intoxicating products "STRICTLY PROHIBHITED" during the trek.
2.Always pay heed to the trek guides or instructors.
3.Try not to leave the group under any circumstances.
4.Avoid trekking during the nights as it is extremely dangerous.
5.Avoid using earphones as that might hinder your hearing.
6.Do not participate or encourage littering of the places in any form.
7.While visiting the local villages and tourist sites, obey the local guidelines and instructions.
8.Do not harm or interrupt the local sentiments of the places.

IMPORTANT:

Your safety is of paramount concern while travelling with Himal Trek & Tour.
Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns.
Since adventure entails travelling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.
